The magnetic ink uses magnetizable pigments, such as Fe3O4 and Fe2O3. Most of these particles are needle-like crystals smaller than 1 μm. After magnetic field treatment, it is easy to achieve magnetic alignment and obtain higher residual magnetism. The ink made after adding to the ink shows magnetism and becomes a magnetic ink.
Magnetic ink is widely used in anti-counterfeiting documents such as bank cards, checks, credit cards, ID cards, passports, etc.
Now most companies only have black and brown two colors.But our engineers have developed three new colors: blue, red，yellow and green in 2019. Some people believe that the magnetic ink was intended as a fraud prevention concept, yet the original intent was to have a non-optical technology so that writing on the cheque, like signatures, would not interfere with reading. The main magnetic fonts (E13-B and CMC7) are downloadable for a small fee and in addition magnetic toner is available for many printers. Some higher resolution toners have sufficient magnetic properties for magnetic reading to be successful without special toner.
